A geeky software engineer hacks an adult website.
Gary Keswick, nose-to-the-grindstone chief engineer at Porcupine Software, gets shafted in a divorce settlement when his spouse, pretentious Janet, hooks up with the lawyer (Harry) of an adult website (LiveBabeCams), the same company that never paid him for site construction. Smitten Janet demands outrageous alimony, driving Gary underground to Venice Beach. There, he is reunited with his old college chum, Satch, now a beach mural artist with a coterie of similar artists (Gypsy, Emmett, Bangers, and Grogan).
Gary offers to help Satch and his Crew save the soup kitchen where they have to serve probation by enlisting them to help keep Janet’s goons from finding him. Meanwhile, he hacks the revenue stream of LiveBabeCams.
LiveBabeCams, owned and operated by Vi Hardrive and Lonik Szabo, underworld boss, go on offense against Gary, tracking him down and trying to capture him to recover their stolen loot. Gary slips out of their grasp and Satch takes him to hide out in West Hollywood with Francine, a rock singer who plays clubs on the Sunset Strip.
Gary’s disillusionment with love gradually unravels in light of Francine’s allure. Just as he is about to commit to Francine’s overtures, Vi catches up with him and uses Francine and Satch as hostages to squeeze Gary for the money. Gary eventually turns the tables on Vi with the help of Satch’s Crew, leading to the final confrontation between Gary and Lonik at Cadillac Jack’s and the Pink Motel.
