Young woman set out to prove the man who raped her is a wealthy, well known, well respected attorney
Everything is finally going great in the life of fashion photographer, JULIE PATTERSON. She had just been proposed to by her boyfriend, KEVIN TILDEN, an up and coming fashion designer, to whom she is shooting a fashion catalog. If it wasn’t for those recurring dreams and her obsession with taking pictures of men with straight black hair, she might have been happy.
Julie, and her best friend MELISSA GIBBONS, a newspaper crime reporter, attend a charity party hosted by BEN ROTHMAN, a successful attorney and heir to a fortune amassed by his father, the owner of the newspaper Melissa works for. One look at Ben, and Julie is sure he’s the man who brutally raped her two years earlier. With gun and mask she threatens to kill him, but is incapable of pulling the trigger.
Julie tells Melissa she was raped by a man with black hair and a scar on his back, and asks her aid in finding evidence against Ben. Melissa dismisses the thought that Ben is the one, as he’s known for his charity work, and is happily married.
Launching her own investigation, Julie finds out he uses the same cologne as her attacker. She plots to hide cameras in her bedroom, lure Ben there, and recreate the attack. But the more time she spends with Ben, the closer she gets to him, and the more distanced she becomes from Kevin.
Melissa discovers a man fitting the attacker’s description was already caught. Convinced Ben is not the one, Julie forsakes her vendetta and sleeps with him, only to find he has a scar on his back. Convinced now that he is the one, she sends threatening letters to his office and his wife. Ben uncovers the truth about Julie, gets Melissa fired, and has Julie’s studio trashed. Julie crashes a party at Ben’s house, and reveals her affair with Ben in front of everyone. After the party, Melissa shows Julie proof that Ben is not the attacker.
His life destroyed by Julie, Ben breaks into her condo and rapes her. Julie escapes and report the rape to the police.
