During a football game Marc, a defensive lineman, uncovers a plot to kill the opposing team’s quarterback, Marc's best friend.
Football player defenseman Marc Banks plays against best friend and opposing team quarterback Dell Cummings. With the first half of the game behind them, Marc overhears an argument between the head coach and general manager in the locker room at half time. The argument revolves around Marc’s teammate, Nick Shymer. Out in the first half due to an injury, Nick has made a miraculous recovery and is back on the field.
Nick targets Dell with a vengeance on the field, Marc corners him and demands to know why Dell is the target. Nick is neck high in gambling debt. The bookie has promised all debts will be paid if he takes Dell out of the game along with a lump sum payment. After a tackle, Marc warns Dell on the field.
Marc & Dell have had a falling out and Dell doesn’t believe Marc’s warnings. He goes back to the game. Marc goes to the head coach to insist that Nick be pulled only to find out that the general manager has disappeared and a gun is pointed at the team’s bench.
Marc pulls additional information from Nick and finds out it’s the same bookie that Dell had planned to blow the whistle on. Marc warns Dell once again on the field and this time Dell believes him, but what can he do? Marc purposely throws a play and targets Nick, crashing into his knees. That gets Nick off the field and Marc thrown out of the game.
Marc quickly realizes the gun isn’t pointed at the team’s bench, but at Dell. He has to save his friend who is like a brother. A high chase pursuit unfolds in the stadium. Marc first knocks out the bookie and with the last few minutes left in the game, he climbs the rafters of the stadium and tracks down the sniper right as the clock strikes zero.
