A young impoverished Miami rock singer and his best friend take a chance on destiny and experience a climb up the path of fame and fortune although they find they have to pay a heavy toll along the way; one that they may not survive.

Jade and best friend, Jesse, are born into lower middle- class families in South Miami in 1960. Jesse’s father, Nick, was a one-hit wonder torch-song singer back in the late fifties until his career was eclipsed by the advent of Rock and Roll. Now a young man, Jade strives to make it in the (late ‘70’s/early ‘80’s) rock scene with pal Jesse in the same field that destroyed his own father’s life.
The two boys start a 5-piece garage band, but (though talented) nothing significant happens at first. Enter Alister Steed. He is an aging rock megastar with a secret chapter in his history. He approaches Jade with a mutually beneficial deal. Alister hopes for redemption from his past sins in the afterlife for helping the boys. Jade and Jesse simply want of a way out of poverty.
