I have to say, this is a strong example of what sheer poetic intensity should be. All creative works should have the power to grab you, draw you in and never let go; this story succeeded to do that for me. Well Done!

I agree with TheStrokesNIN. The story shows much promise. Definitely agree that the female perspective is missing in this genre traditionally dominated by men. Good luck!

This one reminds me of a relationship I had in college as well as of the book South of the Border West of the Sun, my favorite novel by Haruki Murakami. There should be more movies like this that show what it really takes to love a woman and to be a man. Like Solid Snake said in Metal Gear Solid, "If you love someone, you have to be able to protect them". I think it has the same potential to impact a viewer as one of David Cronenberg's films, especially if the final act could take on a similar style with the weight of the philosophical and moral themes which are explored exploding into intense violence and action that the characters become immersed in. However, the themes explored in this one, contrary to A History of Violence and Eastern Promises, are themes I've rarely seen done right if at all in Mafia movies. This one seems like a truly original piece capable of standing alone on it's own land, and I especially like the fact that its a mafia movie done by a woman, which would be a rare piece and offer special insight and perspective on a genre that has a diminutive at best female voice. I'm a woman and though I loved The Departed and some other movies I always felt a little left out.
