Arnold enters chaos when he is nearly killed, then saved by a man who has died himself, four times.
What if there was no afterlife? If man really did reincarnate, shifting from one parallel life to the next?
What if one man could remember all his past lives collecting knowledge, skills and experiences from each one?
But if he stumbled upon our world, how would we react, would we extract all his knowledge, all his thoughts, to advance our own civilisation?
This story begins with this premise. When everyman Arnold stumbles upon a suicide. A man named Ethan Hughes falls out of the tinted windows of a tall building. Arnold would have been in Ethan’s trajectory, but before he does a strange man named Elijah forces him from the spot and saves his life.
Elijah explains that he and Ethan were chased by a government funded group, and it could now be after him too.
Embroiling further into the danger, conspiracy and the supernatural, Arnold discovers that Elijah and Ethan are the same person, but in different lives. Elijah can remember his past lives and therefore knew that Ethan would die.
Elijah explains that we only live one life per universe; otherwise you would run the risk of bumping into your “other” lives. But he can’t understand how he is coming back here.
With the help of old flame (of a previous life) Emily, they discover that the leader of the group is an old nemesis, ambitious megalomaniac Quentin.
Quentin, invents a device to pull Elijah back into our world, with him stuck here, Quentin can afford to keep him around for repeated experiments.
Quentin’s plan comes to a head when he creates a device that will take Elijah’s gift of memory, and leave him dead.
In a final showdown, Quentin and Elijah meet up. Elijah realises the horrific truth that Quentin is also from a previous life of his. And not only that, Quentin was his first.
Realising that Quentin and Elijah are the beginning and end, they both die after the revealing experiment, and the battle ends in a twisted full circle.
