A woman is forced to confront the horrors of her past to save a sister she didn't know existed.

Synopsis:

Covered in blood, 7 year-old Carly Carlton runs through lush landscape as she flees the terrifying scene in her Palm Springs home. Far on the other coast, Samantha Rae wakes to face her own nightmare. Estranged from her family for 20 years, she has numbed with drugs, alcohol and work to hide from her pain.

Palm Springs detectives respond to investigate the assault of a retired fellow officer and the murder of his wife. As the detectives begin to unravel the truth, their investigation leads them from the west coast to the Jersey shore, taking them through one man's dark secrets to horrifying memories and paralyzing silence.

Compelled to go to California, Samantha must face her darkest fears to rescue Carly, ultimately unlocking their collective silence.

I was fortunate enough to work on this trailer and this is a great story. The full script is an absolute page turner, even when you know how it ends! Cant wait to see the full length version! Thanks BC films for putting this story out there and for letting me be a part of it. Good luck in the competition!

Truth is stranger or in this case more disturbing than fiction. If you didn't watch all the way to the end of the credits make sure you do! The little girl with the gun...can't wait to see the film to see the rest of the story!!!

I echo what Reyna said, only I'd add kleenex. Films like this need to be made and seen, no matter how hard the material is to watch and digest. The world has done an abysmal job of protecting it's children, female and male, females being the most common victims of sexual assault worldwide. Few people who aren't affected directly are even aware of the ultimate cost to society of sexual crimes, most of which are within the family.
