A young divorcee from small-town Ohio joins a Beverly Hills entertainment law firm.

Synopsis:

Faylene Scrimshaw, a young divorcee from Akron, Ohio, joins Argue, Dicker & Schreiber, a Beverly Hills entertainment law firm, as a temp, only to find herself surrounded by a bizarre cast of characters. Wendy Argue, the 20-something receptionist, exacts a “toll” on everyone who passes by her desk — running a sideline “boutique law firm boutique” in the waiting room. Senior partner Fred Argue is a phantom whose tantrums are heard but is never seen as he keeps his wife, Helen, the harried office manager, hopping. Don Dicker’s assistant, Lily, does everything from massaging to messaging. Ralph Schreiber is so wrapped up in his work that he doesn’t know what year it is. Fay is ready to quit after she spies on Fred and suspects he is a “dummy.” Then Fay is served with papers from her ex-husband seeking custody of her cockatoo, Alice. Fay is ready to run back to Ohio when Ralph unexpectedly offers to take her case for free. It’s an offer she can’t refuse.
Then Ralph thinks he has struck gold when a female impersonator, Formosa Deville, wants to sue Aretha Franklin for "disrespecting" him/her in a nightclub, destroying Formosa's career. To prove himself, Ralph defends Fay in court and wins the case -- his first ever.
Back at the office, Fay and Ralph open a bottle of champagne, only to find Helen in a dark mood. Fay fears the office rumors are true: Helen killed her husband, especially after Helen announces that Fred is "not with us." Don and Ralph begin to bicker over who gets Fred's office. Finally Helen admits Fred left her for another woman and she has been "keeping up appearances."
Then Wendy announces the unexpected arrival of Formosa Deville — and the secrets of the firm spill out. By the end, Helen and Fred are reunited and off to retirement; Fay has a new life; Ralph becomes a full partner, while Don gets to be senior partner. For her part, Wendy is off to Paris to become a fashion designer.

Could be a modern complement to How To Marry A Millionaire? I get that vibe for some reason. You have a nicely unique illustrative style. Good luck!
